Special Olympics Michigan Area 11 serving athletes in Kent and Barry counties, along with our sponsors, proudly presents the second annual Let’s TOGA for Special Olympics event on Friday, October 26, 2012 at EVE at The B.O.B. in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The Festival of Trees Gala, which was a longstanding holiday kick-off within our community, was retired in 2010. Special Olympics Michigan Area 11 replaced it with a fun and lively event in October 2011 and West Michigan responded! The toga party incorporates fun aspects of Greek culture and, of course, the Olympics!

Togas are highly encouraged for the costume contest and photo booth. Both Special Olympics Michigan athletes and members of the community know how to have fun, so let’s do it together. Local Special Olympic athlete-created fine art pieces will be sold in a live auction. Other athlete-created art will be featured in a raffle auction. For many athletes, creating their own works of art has been a new experience and an opportunity to let their undiscovered talents shine in a new arena.
